Only 30°c in Melbourne, so thought I better get a walk in before tomorrows 40°c+ and found hundreds of Christmas spiders. They are about 5mm and hard to get photos of when using a phone as they sway in the breeze. Interestingly there were jet black ones which I have never seen before but couldn’t get a fix on them. The were a bit larger than the coloured ones. Also saw a jacky jacky lizard and a snake disappearing into a rabbit hole and the most terrifying flying thing I’ve ever seen. Looked like a cross between a giant March fly and wasp. I swear it growled at me as I tried to get close enough to take a pic. Bugger that.
