What a wonderful three days of cyclocross. And no — not the pro calendar. I mean for my boy, and for the kids of my racing school.
Saturday he raced the North West League (oddly enough in Yorkshire), against some of the most talented riders in the country in his category. He finished a very respectable 4th, and genuinely stunned people with how he powered up a brutally muddy climb 💪

Sunday was the North Wales League — and his first-ever U12 win.
He was a bit disappointed with the perceived depth of competition, but the race itself wasn’t straightforward. Behind after the first lap, he then got tangled with some nasty thorns that tore his leg up badly (it’s still swollen today).
But he kept going. Caught back on. Passed the rider ahead. And went on to win by nearly 30 seconds.
