We have quite a few Persian immigrants & former refugees of Iran who live in Victoria, BC. One of my good friends, fellow photog, is a Persian immigrant.
There's a lot more to #Iran than just ongoing political strifes, desert lands & religious power conflicts. It's a mostly misunderstood & relatively unknown place to most people from Western worlds. #Persians have a very deep, culturally rich & long history there. Their peoples are highly resilient, creative masters, well educated & quite inventive. Iran is the birthplace of #algebra. It's culturally rich with many beautifully decorated architectural structures all over the country.
Iran also has one of the last broadleaf #AncientForests in the world. It has multiple contrasts in climate - which is why you can experience extreme heat to cold, snow covered mountains, in a day of travel. It has some of the most stunning & interesting landscapes on Earth. It's the 17th largest, sovereign nation in the world. Iran has survived multiple foreign invasion attacks in their past & are very experienced with fighting to protect their homelands.
[ From majestic mountains and lush valleys to dramatic deserts and ancient cities, this travel #documentary explores the most beautiful places in Iran. Journey through breathtaking landscapes, historic Persian sites, and vibrant local culture. Discover #UNESCO #WorldHeritage sites, colorful mosques, remote villages, and timeless traditions that define Iran鈥檚 rich #heritage. A cinematic look at one of the world鈥檚 most fascinating and underrated travel destinations. ]

#Europe and the #Gulf monarchies have Iranian #blood on their hands. They have been with the #USA and #Israel the entire time. They are brutal, #authoritarian #colonizers. They do not get to claim #innocence now.
#Africa knows this directly. The #perpetrators of #genocide in #Sudan and #Congo are the same perpetrators of #war in #Iran.
#SouthAsia too. #Britain set #Pakistan and #Afghanistan against each other with the #DurandLine splitting the Pashtuns. The #Taliban has always had #covert #Western #proxy and #Saudi backing.
The timing of the Taliban attacking Pakistan and starting a war is revealing. It ties down Pakistan from supporting its #ally Iran fully when attacked. Iran has millennia of #historical ties to the entire #region, and a mutual #defense pact with Pakistan. Iran is under their #nuclear umbrella.

V氓r Frelsers kirke (a church that is called "Oslo domkirke" today ) at Stortorvet (the main square).
We can also see horse drawn trams. The church tower was also used by the fire department to scout for fires.
