i vaguely remember hearing about a study showing improved lung capacity in those wearing N95s or similar masks while exercising and i’m not sure if it was my brain making something up or a legit study so i figured i’d ask fedi if they’ve heard of this study too, since this sounds like it has truth to it but i’m not sure where i’d start looking

i’m also looking for some sort of small zine i can print off and give to our roommates on how to wear disposable N95s properly (including limited reuse)

Just as a data point, in response to @augieray 's excellent post today, I should note that I suggest locking yourself in at home to avoid COVID. It's the most effective way to prevent something that can change your life permanently for the worse by damaging your brain and body both.

That said, if you choose to venture out, mask up!

If we're seeing friends, everyone tests beforehand, and if everyone is clear, we'll not bother with the masks. We also get involved with the local mask blocs, where sometimes you'll find various social events where everyone masks.

We've adhered to these safety measures for years now, so this isn't just theoretically possible, it's practical and relatively easy. And all it takes is a little fear of what this stuff can do to you based on rigorously vetted data!

Wear a goddamn mask. We’re 6 years into the #COVID. Pandemic. It’s not rocket science. Respirators work. It doesn’t have to be like this and vaccines are only one part of the solution.

When I had COVID a few weeks ago it was likely from a 4-5 minute period where I was unmasked in a Lyft ride. That’s all it takes. It’s airborne. You just have a inhale it.

Don’t risk #LongCOVID or wrecking your immune system.
