I spent over a decade working as a makeup assistant. My spouse, a musician. Both of us were in strong unions. We are lucky that we still enjoy those benefits after many years in the business. I am very thankful for the union support we receive.

Why do I bring this up?

Folks, (especially you younger folk) unions are so very important. I can’t stress this enough. Get in one, and make it stronger. Now is that time.

And for my non-German speaking friends some words in English about the post I'm quoting.

I was on strike yesterday. At the protest I saw this great sign and exchanged a few words with the lady who made it. She said something like: "Which real trekkie wouldn't be here today?". I couldn't agree more. 🖖

Gestern habe ich gestreikt! 💪
Die zentrale Demo für den Südwesten war bei eklig feucht-kaltem Wetter in Mannheim. Dort wurden wir hervorragend warm verpflegt! Danke!
Die Playlist auf dem Wagen war auch super! Wo ist der Link dazu? 😉

Dieses tolle Schild sprang mir bei meiner Ankunft am Streiklokal sofort ins Auge und als alter Trekkie musste ich das natürlich fotografieren. Ich habe dann ganz kurz ein paar Worte mit der Macherin ausgetauscht. Sie sagte sowas wie: "Welcher echte Trekkie wäre heute nicht hier!?" Dem kann ich nur zustimmen! 🖖
