Alright, I think this is my last Assembly Required post for today.

Announcing Filibus, The Mysterious Air Pirate.

Filibus is a hand made action figure, based on the 1915 film Filibus. They are a genderfluid airship captain, and the star of my serial magazine The Mysterious Air Pirates.

These are the first batch of our Deluxe Full-color edition figures. They're hand painted.

Future editions will probably involve paint masks, but I didn't have time to do it fast so I had to take the time to do it slow.

There are currently 5 of this Deluxe Edition Filibus Action Figure, along with about two dozen of a show exclusive variant. They will be available this weekend at Assembly Required in Asheville, NC.

After Assembly Required, a second hand painted batch will be available for fedifolk sometime in Feb, and another different edition will be available in March.

There's also our new mini-Spacehawk playset!

Features a Glow-In-the-Dark mini-spacehawk, a tie-dye evil robot, and two pieces of multi-color lunar terrain.

Supplies are limited, but I'll have at least 5 or 6 at Assembly Required in #asheville this weekend!

A swirly, multicolored water-heater style robot, a glow-in-the-dark spaceman, and two pieces of lunar terrain. They're all toys. It's hard to say from the photo how big they are, but I can say because I made them. The spaceman is about 50mm tall, and the robot about 60mm, and the lunar craters are roughly 100mm wide.

Jupiter's Ghost and Expedition Sasquatch boxes. They're cassette tape boxes, but have been refitted to house gameboy cartridges.

So yeah, if you can make it out to Asheville this weekend, come see us at the Designer Art Toy Show.

There will be a few dozen other artists, all showcasing art made entirely outside the corporate system.

These are toys made without the influence of corporations, by real people, in an act of defiance and revolutionary joy.

There's a lot of bad in the world right now, but this is one way for us to find some good.

Alright! Here's the finished cardbacks for the limited deluxe edition of our new Sky Pirate action figures.

The figure in the bubble is a partially painted test-shot, with some issues that will get resolved tomorrow.

This will be a limited run, with a canvas cardback and a reseelable bubble. They'll be hand numbered, and first come first served at #AssemblyRequired \\ #AssemblyRequiredAsheville this weekend.

There will be another limited run in an alternate colorway towards the end of Feb, followed by the less limited run in March.

Today the sun has found us again in #Asheville, and it is helping do some of the melting without it ever getting warm. Currently 22F but the macadam is clear and dry after the 2nd shoveling this morning. Low of 5F tonight, and more winds.

The sun is just beginning to glint off the snow this morning, in this shot off my front porch. We have not yet cleared the paver entry walk for the 2nd time. It is really nice to see the blue skies again.

Another picture from the same spot, looking straight out the front door. The top of the porch, stairs and sidewalk are still snow-covered, but not nearly as deeply as the area of grass which remains untouched.

Shooting up the street on the side of our home, and the looooong sidewalk I decided to shovel today. Such light, dry snow!

I think I po'ed a dad with his daughter and a sled, but I'm here for the dog walkers and wanted to be sure they had an ice-free path up this hill, at least on our property.

I think we have over 300' of sidewalk, but it was the easiest shoveling I've ever done.

A sidewalk curves up next to a street which rises away from the camera, still snow-covered as are the homes on both sides. The property falls off over 50' from the front to the back, so I like to keep this open and clear for people walking up the hill. About noon here in #Asheville and the light snow is still falling. Have shoveled the drive and walk (no one else is out, smarter people) and done for the time being. Maybe approaching 4"?

ED doc who went to work reported no problems on the major, plowed roads, and our local ones were navigable with AWD, so she had no issues.

So far, only fun!

Now going on 8AM, the temp has dropped to 18, and the snow is still falling, lightly but steadily. There is a touch of wind out of the north, but my weather station is somehow not telling me about it.
