A5. Back in 2017 we had the Great UK Railway Timetable Fuckery. (to give it it's official title).
Getting to work changed from being about an hour, to anything between 1 and 2 hours.
I could cycle to work and get a shower in about under hour, save myself £1200/year on train tickets*, and not have to smell people's armpits.**

* Don't ask how much I spend on bikes per year.
** If that's your thing, I won't judge.

A3. I got several Swytch kits back in 2021. They add 3kg to the front of the bike, so it can mess with the handling depending on the sort of bike. Otherwise fine to ride on without charge, and easy to swap out the wheel.
Since then, they've introduced several more models of varying weight and battery position, but their customer service has dropped off a cliff, and Reddit is full of complaints about them.

I swear I've actually moved since last weekend.
Only a short test ride planned for today as I'm mutilating my road bike.
Swapping out the drops for a Surly Corner Bar, new hydraulic MTB brakes, and dropping to a 10 spd 46-11 cassette as part of my mission to make all my bikes 10 speed.
