Am 24. Februar vor vier Jahren überfiel Russland die Ukraine. An diesem Abend fand die erste Mahnwache vor dem russischen Generalkonsulat in Bonn-Bad Godesberg statt. Seitdem stehen immer noch und wieder regelmäßig Menschen in einer stillen Mahnwache vor dem russischen Generalkonsulat.
Auch am 24.2.2026 zwischen 10 und 12 Uhr - kommt in die Waldstrasse 42 in 53177 Bad Godesberg und steht für Frieden und Freiheit.

Vocal, Active, Acrobatic. Three words that nicely capture the Tufted Titmouse. Sadly, the last of the Paridae that I have in my photo Library. These are lowland birds, that are common in the eastern half of US. Fun to watch and work with as you hike around the trails in the woods. They will follow along, talking to you as they forage for food - mostly insects (amazing to see them take on a spider) but will also eat nuts and seed. Common in our area, and a common visitor to our feeders.

Volunteer workday today. Not sure what we will be doing so will load up most of the tools. Tuesday nearly finished me off, so hopefully something a little lighter today.

Small gray bird - gray wings and upper body, the underpants are mostly light grey, but with light tan sides. The crest is gray, land the cheeks are lighter grey. The eyes are black as is the short bill and the lores. The bird has a large acorn (almost too large to hold) that it will crack by repeated pounding with its beak. They will take peanuts as well.
