I am doing tests on my old (2017) HP Intel/Nvidia laptop to see where I'm going to end up, #Linux-wise.

So far I've learned that my GPU (GeForce 940MX) is definitely not compatible with the current Nvidia driver (version 590).

For that reason, `modprobe nvidia` doesn't work in #Bluefin for Nvidia, and that process permanently takes up half a CPU core.

Bluefin for AMD/Intel runs just as well as Bluefin LTS. Definitely a contender.

I'm going to try #Aeon. Maybe it will run as well or better.

I have been thinking about leaving the image-based (atomic/immutable) world and going with Ubuntu or Mint to easily get a signed kernel with the proprietary Nvidia driver.

But since #Bluefin and Bluefin LTS for AMD/Intel run so well, presumably b/c this 9-year-old laptop has a good-enough Intel GPU, I might be able to stick with the kinds of systems I've been running for the past few years, which include #Aeon Desktop and #Fedora #Silverblue and #Kinoite.
