We were doing a bit of research on our silly licensing project, and discovered something you may want to know. According to the CC Attribution License, you may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
That sample license you gave me seems to violate this.
A) Thanks for the “heads up”.
B) Well, that’s annoying. My reason for doing what I did is that the CC folks were threatening to retroactively declare “AI” scraping was totally legit under the CC licenses —but when was the last time one of those plagiarism machines credited and linked back to all the humans its makers stole from in order to vomit up some polydactyl “art”? Sigh.
