So I have thoughts about this whole ginned up #Colbert #Talatico kerfuffle.
I’m going to put aside the whole cbs/ellison/fcc side of this issue because that’s its own thing.
What I want to talk about is the complete erasure of a strong black female candidate in Jasmine #Crockett. On the eve of early voting, a powerful millionaire white establishment celebrity powerblasted a relatively unknown candidate into the public consciousness.
Talarico has raised 2.5 million in the last 24 hours. He is now the odds on favorite to win, whereas before all this, it was an even race. He’s a nice enough guy, I’ll vote for him if he wins the primary, but I don’t think he can beat Cornyn. He knew Jasmine was running, he can’t beat Cornyn esp if he loses the POC vote, and he still went out there because he wanted it for himself, not for Us.
This was the white male patriarchy protecting itself while liberals cheer this shit on.
