SpaceX Eyes 1 Million Satellites For Orbital Data Center Push

Not just thousands. In an FCC filing, the company mentions deploying up to a staggering 'one million satellites' in orbits ranging from 500 kilometers to 2,000km.

@sundogplanets I think the US government is trying to "flood the zone" to practically prevent other nations from launching their systems. the sooner they do it, the harder it is for anybody else to escape US satellite services (civil & military). an example of these attempts, The FT last week revealed the company [ #Rheinmetall from #Germany] was also in talks over a joint bid to build an equivalent to #ElonMusk #Starlink internet service for the German military. https://archive.is/MwjXQ#selection-1577.20-1577.33
