Continuing a series of quick studies for paintings in series I want to call "cathédrales de corail" because people seem to be obsessed with rebuilding cathedrals and not coral reefs that looked pretty sacred to me.

Watercolor abstract underwater scene using large color washes ro render coral reefs as seen from a small freediver 's perspective

watercolor. freediver's perspective. Thin soft coral polyps full of life reach out to the sun, illuminating the scene with radiant energy. Abstract fish are rednered with a few diffuse brushstrokes. It's a rough study for a more refined painting, so I am having fun here.
