Back from Malta... we passed in Valletta every day the Memorial of Daphne Caruana Galizia which is placed just on the opposite of the court of Malta. (and of course we put some candles in front).
She was a Maltese investigative journalist and blogger known for exposing high-level corruption in Malta, including links revealed in the Panama Papers, who was assassinated by a car bomb in 2017.
The person accused of ordering the killing (Yorgen Fenech) and mastermind behind it is still awaiting trial.
Here are 2 famous quotes from her investigative journalists should always think of (and also readers):
“When people taunt your or criticise you for being negative or failing to go with their flow, for not adopting an attitude of benign tolerance to their excess, bear in mind always what they, not you, are the ones who are in the wrong.”
“Facts are facts. You don’t have to believe them or otherwise. They just are. It’s not a matter of faith.”
