In case anyone still bothers counting the times #Trump has ignored court rulings, the #judiciary & flat out breaks the #law, here’s another to add to the list —
On Dec 8th, a federal judge threw out the Trump EO blocking #WindEnergy projects, yet today, Dec 22nd, the Trump admin said it is pausing leases for 5 large-scale offshore #wind projects under construction in the East Coast due to unspecified [aka bullshit] “national security” risks identified by the Pentagon.
LOL. Trump uses "pausing" something as an excuse to say he's not cutting what he's cutting.
In the same way, he fires an entire agency's staff, except for three people, so he can claim he's not really closing the agency. I don't think many judges have a stomach for that any more.
The pause is effective immediately & will give the #Interior Dept, which oversees offshore #wind, time to work with the #Defense Dept & other agencies to assess the possible ways to mitigate any security risks posed by the projects [come up with some bullshit excuses], the admin said.
