How can they redact Trump's name from The Epstein Files, when everyone knows the name they could be redacting?
Their software only places a black box on top of an unaltered text, and the name Donald Trump has a very specific length in each font. It is not just 12 letters long — it has a length which is a result of the letters D o n a l d T r u m p.
So if they are placing a black box of this length over the text again and again, how is that supposed to protect him?

To reveal the entire redacted text, there is no need to count letters and spaces, which is tedious and imprecise. Simply apply a script that removes the black highlighting, and everything is revealed page by page (follow this link ⤵️). Of course, the question of blacked-out photos remains.

when they later redact Trump's name from the Kennedy Center, I almost hope #strikeThrough is used (preserve the damage done ... and serve as a reminder)
@randahl I heard a report that cutting and pasting the files would restore redacted portions. Haven't had a chance to try yet.
