Hmm, I think Discord would be way beyond my comfort zone.
I think the trouble with joining a Discord community is that participating makes the app more attractive. You can't be there to promote free software without being a full participant.

Yes, it is no fun. And there are more levels of principles to consider depending the platform. I tooted the above as I found a beautiful #gleam community on #Discord chat.

There are plenty opportunities. Just now in chat that a repo name was taken on github. Good opportunity to name-drop #codeberg as a better forge that has the name available. A quick 2 cents of promo for the #FOSS cause may leave 馃尡 seeds to take root and help shift perspectives.

You should check out aforementioned #gleam perhaps, at https://gleam.run as its so focused on simplicity and ease of use. Perfect for the audience to get their grips on functional programming concepts. And with a fine and very helpful community, is my first impression.

You might be interested in Social experience design. It goes beyond #UX to consider people's Needs and, well.. their social experience brought by the #SX solution. How technical code makes people feel in the 'sociosphere', let's say. Offline on the other side of the tech divide :)
