Because there’s a contingent of loonies in #Alberta who believe the rest of #canada is mean to them, the courts have allowed them to ask for a referendum on leaving the country - presumably so they can be North Texas - providing they get enough signatures.
If they think anything about living in an independent land-locked ‘state’ is going to make it easier to deal with trade or fairness, they’re wrong.
And historically, #britishcolumbia and #newfoundland have greater claims to independence.
