In case you missed it, there's a website that makes it as easy as possible to join Mastodon (and other Fedi platforms):
The featured general server changes regularly, and for people who want choice there's a full list of over 100 servers sorted into categories.
All of the servers are listed with permission of their admins, and promise to comply with specific standards of moderation and technical reliability at https://fedi.garden/about-this-site
@FediTips This is so nice! Are all the servers general-purpose? This would be such a good way to chip away at the mastodon.social centralization problem.
BT Free is a non-profit organization founded by @ozoned@btfree.social . It's goal is for digital privacy rights, advocacy and consulting. This goal will be attained by hosting open platforms to allow others to seamlessly join the Fediverse on moderated instances or by helping others join the Fediverse.
