My workshop (where I spend most of my days) gets as cold as a glacial wasteland in winter.
This year, I saved up and got myself a portable heat pump -- and today I installed it. (A two-person job as always but needs must.)
My workshop is no longer freezing and this is like a miracle!
This is one of the best upgrades I've ever done. I don't know how to convey how happy I am. I've been giddy about it all day.
Context: My house has a natural gas furnace, which is an environmental disaster. The rates have gone up significantly every year for the past five years. I'm a renter and I can't replace it.
So I keep the house warm enough that the pipes don't freeze. And then I heat myself or the areas of the house I use most -- to reduce environmental harms & lower gas bills.
This is the second portable heat pump I've saved up for. I'm very happy with them.
