Not only can you emulate them - there are people making small-scale replicas (like 1/3 and 1/4 size) of the front panels, complete with smoked glass and old-school LED matrix displays and a huge row of 1970's switches. They're PURDY.

What I haven't seen are any new modern-manufacture analogs for paper-tape or punched card.

@tbortels @darkuncle Our high-school minicomputer had front-panel switches. I'm being overly romantic when I say that initiating the bootstrap by toggling and loading three 16-bit instructions before pressing RUN feels a little like learning to start a fire with a flint and a stone.

And yet...
