Being overwhelmed by Shadow Tactics, I immediately bought and started into Desperados 3 on release day in 2020, planning to play through the game on the hardest difficulty and achieving all the badges, too. 馃悆
Somehow this one didn't catch me and I stopped playing the game after two levels. A second try in 2022 I once again stopped after another 3 levels. Maybe it was the Wild West theme or some of the differing design decision but Desperados 3 didn't brought...

A couple of days ago I gave Desperados 3 another try and this time it seems I got addicted like I was to Shadow Tactics. 馃く
I stopped the 2022 game in the fifth level, achieved all the badges but the speedrun one and the one requiring a level playthrough without saving. Although those are the hardest and therefore less enjoyable challenges, I really enjoyed figuring out the right strategies for them this time. 馃М

@repeatro I love Shadow Tactics. Even though I played a lot of Commandos when I was younger, I sucked at the games and never got too far. So Shadow Tactics turned out to be the first realtime tactics game that I finished. 馃お
One of these days, I'll have to go back to Commandos and see if I can make it further. I think one of my personal limitations was setting up traps and ambushes. It always felt like I should only use one soldier and take out the enemies incrementally. But some places are impossible that way and are in turn very easy if you set up all your soldiers and just gun them down. I never used the gun as a teen. It was too loud and would often draw unwanted attention, but apparently it can be done if you're away far enough.
