2025 End of year personal computing check-in

I've written quite a bit over the past 11 months about flipping the table on my personal computing. All very unexpected but what a relief to have done it. And also very satisfying to know that my computing now fits my personal ethics in a way that it did not before.

@dennyhenke Excellent review of your process and thoughts. I became a Linux user after spending about 2 weeks using my first Windoze computer (scrap built Win95 unit).

Several years ago, I picked up a chromebook intending to convert it to Linux. But that never happened. My current portable computer is a chromebook, but once again, the plan is to switch it to Linux. This time it's going to happen.

I also found instructions for upgrading my Galaxy phone to Linux. That once a bit scary though because I don't know what happens if I mess it up. I don't think I'll be able to restore the Samsung software. So I'm still thinking about that.

Anyway, again, great post.

@dennyhenke Inspiring blog post. I appreciate that you make the transition to linux seem doable. Thanks for that.

@jmbushcraft Thanks for reading and yes, it really is doable! It was far easier than I expected... and so much better to use than I expected. It's been something of a revelation!
