A8. Here's my bike earlier in the week at the end of the line. I was riding up a dry stream bed and reached this dry waterfall, no navigable way through or over. So this was the turnaround point. Still, a beautiful ride.

A8. This is Suehirotei, the famous rakugo (Japanese comedy) theatre in Shinjuku 3-chome. I'd just finished lunch at a stand-up sushi bar (where I was able to help a few foreign tourists with their orders) with my partner and her mother, after which we'd split up to do separate shopping.

I also visited Y's Road, a large bicycle chain retailer, nearby in 2-chome.

A8: My ride from earlier today on a borrowed bike, taking advantage of unseasonably warm weather, overlooking the Tennessee River.

@ascentale @bikenite but really these are my year end images. Modest, but a good trend.

@ascentale @bikenite A8: The tiny island of Sakushima is a 45km ride and 20-minute ferry ride from the house here in Nagoya. As last year, I rode down on Christmas Eve and spent the night at the guest house Chidori, where an excellent seafood dinner is served.

The island environment is peaceful, and a good getaway from the city. I biked around a little on Christmas Day, and paused to snap this photo near a local temple, of a proud dwelling that has seen better days.

@ascentale @bikenite A8: always love this - remembered to take one actually - i've been enjoying the fall leaves here in San Francisco and after the wind and rain they were all over the bike lanes (as well as some tree branches). I did like the colors though as I rode down the bike lane on Valencia! #BikeNite

riding a bike on the green protected bike lane on Valencia which is covered in leaves - cars are on the left and the bike rider took this while riding no handed and you can see the leaves whizzing by in a blur - the leaves are bright yellow and orange and green

@spacehobo @ascentale @bikenite I probably wasn't super wise but then i think these leaves aren't as slick maybe? I had ridden through similar leaves and it felt OK :)

@ascentale @bikenite A8: I do! I made a rain-tight cargo pod a while ago but it was super rattily so I never used it. This past summer I figured it out (finally - I was approaching it all wrong) and I finally used it for the first time today. Worked a treat, too. Glad I finally have it in amongst my options for real!

Thanks! I was not only enjoying the landscape, I was grooving on camping there for a week and never seeing another human. It's pretty remote.

Thanks! That's an Old Man Mountain rack, one of the few I know of that attach to a full suspension bike. So far it seems really rugged.

Olive green wasn't a stock color, they were experimenting with new coatings and offered it to me at a discount.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. For aspirational reasons, #Albania is repeating a lot of the same mistakes the US did as far as indulging cars. Here in the capital especially, there are a lot of status games around cars & tons of car washes to keep their natural grime at bay.

So I was amused and happy to see this gent cleaning his e-bike at a car wash to get the winter mud off it. (Also reminds me of the question from last week's #BikeNite )

Man stands watching his friend at a car wash lot in front of a bright gold wall. The balcony above is full of houseplants. There's soapy water on the cement and a black step-through e-bike is posed on its kickstand, newly cleaned.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. This is our family dog, who enjoys riding in the front basket. The basket is attached to the downtube via pipes that fit through larger pipes on the frame, so it holds in via gravity (though I could slip a padlock through to bolt it in place if I wanted). #BikeNite

A vertical photo taken from the seat of a black bike, so that you see the handlebars and behind those a black plastic basket in which is a nylon dog carrier containing a small ginger and white cavapoochon.

@lopta @ascentale @bikenite the fork sweeps backwards, instead of the normal forawrds. The top bike has it right.

Guessing this is art on some stores wall?

@LovesTha @ascentale @bikenite Not intended as art and will be ridden at some point. Not a bike shop, obviously. Could the front fork be the wrong way around? #BikeNite
