thinking about this thread again when I saw a post about,

馃惞 I think it'd be better to think about how society can be restructured so that artists get paid properly, what a beautiful world that would be, let's just have a think about it
馃 how about buy albums on bandcamp or rip CDs and put the files on your phone with a wire
馃 First you buy the album on Bandcamp, that makes sure the artist gets paid
馃 Then you hit Download, and you'll have a bunch of music files
馃 Plug your phone in to your computer and hit Windows key + E
馃 Copy and paste the files you just downloaded into the Music folder on your phone, if there isn't a music folder there then you can make one by pressing File -> New Folder
馃 If you don't have a computer you can also download the files from Bandcamp straight to your phone
馃 Play around with the different music players on the app store until you find one you particularly like
馃惞 That's all very well and good but have you considered thinking really deep thoughts and waiting for capitalism to collapse
@ifixcoinops I've had a lot of those conversations and some also go like this:

@afewbugs @ifixcoinops ah the classic "I didn't have this problem, therefore you shouldn't have had this problem" paradigm, love it.
@ifixcoinops last time I was visiting the in-laws in California I saw a TV ad for a solar panel installer company whose entire pitch was "PG&E and the city and state govts are conspiring to gouge you on your power bill, screw them right back by putting solar panels on your house"
which is disgustingly manipulative but also more *effective* revolutionary praxis than I can remember seeing from actual revolutionaries
@ifixcoinops that's what one of my spawn does. He uses what he used to pay spotify to buy music directly from artists - mostly on bandcamp.
