now u know why history is not taught in American public schools
when i travel i am sometimes the only person in my little group who attended an American public school, & i can tell they think i am just exaggerating but alas
one of the reasons "conservatives" oppose education is because the history of the US is f'n dark.. of course when history is not taught, literature steps up so now they don't want people able to read or get books at all...

I wonder if the fact that since 1776, post independence the USA has never been invaded, hardly ever been attacked by external forces (9/11 being one example) is the reason why it is so aggressive towards others. If the US sustained real threat, and constant bombing as Europe did during WWII, it may treat others differently.
I am sure it is easy to sit in the pentagon and coordinate death and destruction on a global scale, safe that the same won't happen to you, &, friends, family in the USA.

The founding fathers? You should read up on the people who constructed the US before you glorify them for no apparent reason. As a little starter: take a good look at the treatment of black and indigenous people in the US by the policies set by those great founding fathers.
