After #Manjaro being a bit of a mess the last few months regarding updates and #KDE just being buggy on a rolling release distro, it was time to move my GF's laptop to #ArchLinux with a new desktop environment.

At first #XFCE looked fine as DE, but then the scaling caused some blurry fonts.

So we've tried out the new #Cosmic desktop by #System76 - and it's great so far!

Really impressed by the progress so far. Sure, some rough edges here and there, but good enough for daily usage!

@graves501 'archinstall' is quite the thing now it seems. even before that, as far as -based distros go, not sure why anyone chooses jaro. Not the only one, not the best one, not even a good one. There used to be a site dedicated to detailing each fuck up (which many) it had. I forget the url.

I agree, Manjaro has been a pain for quite a while, so I haven't used it myself for years now. Manjaro used to be more polished, nowadays Manjaro has no real advantage over just using archinstall. Manjaro is definitely not suitable for beginners, even though they advertise for it or at least used to.

I think there was a dedicated site called "ManjarNO", all I found is this repo: https://github.com/arindas/manjarno
