I don't think the CBC understands that:
a) putting public information behind a login prevents access, auditing
b) relying on services provided by (increasingly hostile) foreign countries is a security concern
c) people stay on X because important services and people stay on X. If those people and services left, Canadians wouldn't be exposed to the propaganda, misinformation, and grotesque content flooding the site
