Why are we so against art theft until the art was made by a sexworker?
If you see accounts that get off on posting stolen nudes, tell them to get off Fedi.
It's art theft. Report them.
My body, my right to share it.

@alice this is horrible, and also probably about X, but I can't help but think: https://xkcd.com/2071
@alice I think it may be copyright violation and that can be a crime and can be prosecuted.
@alice You are so correct.
I tried showing my body once online, and people ran away in terror.
@alice Mine is constantly showing up on accounts reposting from reddit.
So it's stolen from here, reposted without consent to reddit, then scraped from reddit and reposted back here. The most that ever seems to happen on reporting them is that the account gets limited or post of mine specifically removed. The accounts very rarely get removed, even on if it's repeated
@babe 🫂
That's why I've started publicly calling them out.
If I report it, then their mods *might* do something, but when a dozen or two people report it, they're way more likely to get suspended.
I'm also hoping that I can change the community here (even just a little) to make it less accepting of stolen nudes.
@alice Wait, I thought we were against the theft of art unless it is from the capitalists ? I'm confused 🤔
@alice Is this a thing? I guess it doesn't surprise me, but I've been on Mastodon for a couple years now and your pic is the first nude I've come across. Lovely photo, but I must be doing something wrong.
@SteveJB search for hashtags for any part of a woman¹ that can be sexualized and you'll find a hundred such accounts reposting other folx nudes from Reddit, Twitter, porn sites, ex-girlfriends, etc.
Most will say something about how they "appreciate the female form" or some bullshit on their profile—while simultaneously making the space less safe for the women who produce that art, and women in general.
¹There are a lot for men too, though most of those are their own dick pics.
@alice Thanks for that info. My question was more rhetorical though. You wouldn't have brought it up if it wasn't a problem. The surprising part is that I haven't run into it before now. Again. Thank you for your response.
@alice wish it was as easy elsewhere as it is on fedi.. and even fedi has bad examples for moderation
Folx have downloaded my nude gallery ~15,000 times now. I wouldn't be at all surprised if my art has been reposted to other sites—some percentage of people seem to think that's okay...it's not.
You know what is okay though? (if you ask first):
- viewing my photos
- privately showing a few to a friend
- painting them
- remixing them
- writing microfiction around them
- narrating the alt-text I wrote for them
...and most other creative works that build on mine to create something new in the world.
I share these photos because I know folx like them, and I like people liking them. I hope they bring y'all some joy.
@alice tbh if it's on other websites, for some of them you likely might be able to submit DMCA takedown requests, if you find them
@solonovamax the issue is that it's up to the victims to pursue justice, and those accounts & sites will just pop right back up with more stolen art as long as it's profitable¹ to do so. If folx shunned and reported these accounts, then they wouldn't be worth the effort of the assholes on the other side of them.
¹I mean profitable both in the money and he internet fame respects.
I felt inclined to share a topless pic to prove my point.
@oddtail I started it a while back as an exercise in better short-form writing, and now it's second nature.
It just took some practice 😊
@alice
now that's some top notch alt text
Alt text was just as hot as pic
@w_b that's my goal 😊 I want Fedi to be just as much fun for the vision-impaired as for everyone else.
@alice Boobies!! [end of thought]
@alice that alt-text though
@alice Ok, as a bitch who really strives to make the alt text on my public nudes solidly descriptive, I'm taking notes.
Beautiful alt-text, too.
@alice That is a lovely way of proving it, too.
@alice Uh... Cute boobs?
@alice @pronounshe
Partner of 40 years lost a breast to cancer. She lived another 21 years and died of something else.

What I didn't like about zuckbook:
>boobs not allowed
>queerphobia, racism etc. welcome
What I love about fediland:
>boobs welcome
>qeerphobia, racism etc. will get you banned asap on most instances
