Does anyone have any recommendations for a mobile phone in 2026? I would prefer to avoid vendor lock-in, maintain control over my device and data (digital sovereignty), and avoid 🍎

Another fairphone recommendation here. Mine's a 5, has been absolutely abused and other than a pending usb-c module replacement is perfect after this long. I am convinced it will make my target

@Larvitz another vote for Fairphone. I have a 5, with Android, but no Google account on it (updates via Aurora Store and F-Droid). My son has the 6. Work fine.

@Larvitz I Iove my Fairphone 5 and the version 6 comes with non-android os and it's available in the US
