I鈥檝e never played a hockey game other than this one, nor in fact any other sports game, and I played this one an absolute ton.
Mmmh, there must be something very special about this game the other titles of the series miss. 馃
I remember a similar situation in a NBA Live title back in the day: At low difficulty you could easily circumvent the opposing team members on a specific route and go for a slam dunk 100%. Tbh, knowing this can ruin a game. Luckily, in this case it could be solved by increasing the difficulty.
This got more play on my Sega Genesis than any other game. I don鈥檛 think I ever played another hockey game after it.
You are the second one mentioning this today here. There seems to be something special about this title of EA's NHL series.

The only ice hockey game I got hands on back in the day was Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey for N64. Although I wasn't interested in the genre I played this one a lot.
