“I was rushing to get to the United Reform Church in Petersfield for 6.30 to sing with my fantastic choir, ‘Little Town Choir’ from Petersfield, in our two performances at our Christmas concert.

All was fine and then, on turning a corner I suddenly heard a loud scraping sound which appeared to be staying with me… I thought “oh no, what now” as I drove into the town and then pulled the car next to the
kerb to check."

"Before I could get out of my car a motorbike pulled up along side me and a guy lifted up his visor and with a smile said ‘there is something under your car.’
I said ‘oh no I will be late’ and he replied ‘don’t worry I will take a look!’
He moved his motorbike and took off his helmet and before I knew it he was on the ground under my car…."

"I got out too and then I suddenly panicked as I had visions of the handbrake not being on properly and this lovely young guy under my car. I leapt back into my car to check, phew, all was firmly in place.

He told me it was the casing on my exhaust cylinder which had rusted… and come adrift and was dragging on the ground. He told me I couldn’t drive with it like that as it would damage the rest of the cylinder."

"He said not to worry, I will sort it for you. So gradually he pulled at it until it all came away, and all the time he was on the ground under my car!’ I mean!!! When he took it off he folded it all neatly and flattened it (it was very rusty…)

I couldn’t believe that this lovely young guy could be so so helpful and just such a lovely person!’"

"Hero’s don’t all wear capes do they? This guy must have had one on somewhere though I’m sure. So I want to let the nation know what he did and to say thank you so so much you really were so very kind who ever or wherever you are”.

The concert was a great success and I wasn’t even late thanks to him!

Oh Carina, thank you so much for sending in this incredible story of kindness.
