Anybody have ideas about where to host a podcast (low traffic)?

One thousand years ago, I started a thing on a podcast service that got acquired by Spotify. The podcast is served from Spotify today. I’d like to change that.

I did figure out a story for hosting the podcast feed directly from my Ghost dot org site, but it’s a bit too fiddly for me to want to take that on right now, especially with a back catalog of episodes I’d want to keep online (ideally without migrating each item manually).

A few days ago I tested Mastodon, Snac and Lemmy for posting audio attachments to check their RSS feed compatibility with #podcast aggregators. The results weren't great.

Fortunately, funkwhale Funkwhale performed very well IMHO, so I recommend it for podcast hosting. My #Funkwhale test channel @podtest@krasses.berlin (Brazilian Portuguese) can be correctly parsed and played on antennapod and vlc, and added to podcastIndex. Feel free to try it!

@chrkrhc I am looking at self-hosting Castopod which is almost certainly the wrong answer.

@aslakr @chrkrhc Yes, I have a weird personal goal to host it and then offer hosting to all my surprisingly large number of podcasting friends. The docker image is misconfigured so I have to go back into open source web dev mode now.
