My daughter is an academic & so are my colleagues & I respect all of them, but I still think we have a general practicality deficit & it's causing problems & loss of value.
There's a gap between theory/knowledge development & doing things & just like it takes the experience of study to become a good academic, it takes the experience of doing to get good at execution.
Sadly, unlike the former, the latter is wildly undervalued & underprioritized.
