Why is having confidence in a backup qb (or any player to that matter) not be a surprise? You have to have confidence in your team, if anything the Broncos can take something from this, Drew Bledsoe was injured and replaced with Tom Brady, who took them to the post season, then had to step aside for Drew again, however didn't they go on to win the superbowl with Brady?
So there is a chance for the Broncos yet perhaps.
