Question: I see some chatter about #Eurosky (https://www.eurosky.social/about).

They aim to be an identity provider for European platforms.

I spend some time on their website and to me this reads like a for profit company disguised as a non-profit.

Their "one account, dozens of apps" things is worrying. Do we really want another private entity to do the lock-in like what Apple and Google accounts have done to so many of us?

If we need a unified login then make it a publicly owned option.

Ok. Looked a bit more. Is the #Eurosky website some kind of scam or teaching tool for "IT security awareness training"?

The signup form talks about a Privacy Policy that is nowhere to be found. Doesn't seem they follow the law there..

It is hosted by a US company (Squarespace), so all data, including names of people signing up, is instantly shared with the US (not doing so is the entire point of their thing) and a variety of Google services are embedded in the various pages on the website.
