This is what my corrected vision looks like. They’re both bad but the double images are easier to ignore when it’s dark-on-light. #LightMode #Accessibility #Disability

@futzle This is something I've been trying to get people to understand, a lot of people seem to be under the impression that dark mode is the more accessible option, but for me, light mode is easier on the eyes in many contexts.

(For me, it's mostly because of astigmatism and not as pronounced as this, but the same principle applies.)

@futzle @Owlor Good to know. Dark mode is more accessible to me because of light sensitivity migraines, so I wouldn't have thought about adding a light option.

@futzle Dark mode gives me a thumping headache, so I am right there with you on light mode for life.

@frogglin @futzle same.
No eye damage (afaik), but astigmatism, and aging (I guess).

I can't do dark theme. If an app/website only has dark theme I won't use it.

@Andrea @futzle Yeah I have astigmatism, and get ocular migraines.
Dark mode has the text floating around for me, and then burns in a bit.
I sometimes highlight everything and read it that way, but mostly I just nope out.

@frogglin @Andrea @futzle same, astigmatism. Dark mode gives me lasting ghost images.
