I feel you, and unfortunately, the Fediverse is a lot more upfront effort. Following some hashtags is a great first-step, and then find some people on your server that you find interesting and follow them.
Yes, explore the greater Fediverse, but know that there is *quite a bit* of hostility to AI and newer users (Alt your images, OR DIE). Lurk before you leap!

@zotheca @jdmsn I agree about using alt text, I’m happy to do it. It aligns with my values and I am glad that the greater Fediverse shares those values.
What I’m saying is there is a culture already present on the Fediverse, and if you transgress that culture doing noob stuff (like say, not alt-ing your images, or posting AI content in the wrong place) you will probably be talked to condescendingly. This is all a normal part of being in a community, just giving this user fair warning.
