@kevinrns And important to remind folks in Calgary and Edmonton that the two "competing" papers are the same people - they're just letting you choose if you want to be pandered to financially or socially.

@kevinrns Oh, absolutely - but here in #yeg, the Sun and Journal are still nominally "competing", but it's the same newsroom. So the Journal headlines are "liberals bad for market and your profit portfolio", while the Sun will run the same story as "liberals bad for your eternal soul and good order".

@kevinrns Just like it took many years by the Kochs to get trump into office, this is a many year long build of corporate influence. We need to rethink corprations as having personhood and rights.

Yes, let's end corporations. Write them out of business law.

Its ironic how hard founding Americans worked SO HARD to prevent or control corporations.

They knew they were a theiving subversive way to organise enterprises, a danger to society.

They tried to control and regulate or prevent, and they failed. And now their failure threatens us in Canada. We don't have to fail. America may not fall.

Corporations are not necessary, or inevitable or good for us.

When American colonists declared independence from England in 1776, they also freed themselves from control by English corporations that extracted their wealth and dominated trade. After fighting a revolution to end this exploitation, our country's founders retained a healthy fear of corporate power and wisely limited corporations exclusively to a business role. Corporations were forbidden from attempting to influence elections, public policy, and other realms of civic society.

@kevinrns @ottominati bullshit, bigots were around for thousands of years before corporations. This lie you repeated is overwhelming evidence that you're a bigot.
