There's nothing good about today. I went to a cash machine (ATM for you Americans) at 07:30 this morning, put my card number in, selected £50, got my card back and NO MONEY!
The damn thing made an alarm-like sound, but no cash. Rang Santander, who said they would investigate; in the meantime, the account shows a £50 withdrawal.
You watch, I won't get my money back. 😡

@dick_turpin I did. They have a camera in them, so they need to check the footage confirms your story. Mine was worse. I retrieved the card but faffed about getting the card back in my wallet and finding a safe pocket for it (Bloxwich) but forgot to pick up the money. Luckily, it got sucked back into the machine before anyone noticed. That was the other thing they checked. They were £50 up on the day, so they moved it to my account.
@woo I've seen the local druggies messing with the buttons after someone has used the machines.
I knew something was wrong; there are two machines. I used the first one, and "Cash Only" was faded to the point of being barely visible. I cancelled that transaction and moved to the second machine. I won't be going there again.
@dick_turpin I'd ask for a new card too.
@woo Groan, yeah. I said to the missus, "I'm going to be on edge all day now, checking my account every five minutes in case my account gets cleaned out!"
