@rl_dane Well, I mean you could just use real X11;)
@rl_dane Well, I mean you could just use real X11;)
@rl_dane does it happen on other compositors?
@rl_dane You need to tell us about your compositor, because that's where scaling happens. The integration of xwayland is key here.
@rl_dane Yeah sorry, you probably have already seen the link I'm going to post, but to my knowledge that's where things stand right now: https://discuss.kde.org/t/disable-scaling-for-x11-applications-when-using-xwayland/31089
You could try gnome or cosmic or some wlr-wm, ofc.
From what I read, I think they were discussing things being blurry when "Scaled by the system" is turned on. I understand that is a necessary outcome, as is things being to small when being displayed on the scale (1.85x) screen.
I also understand why things would appear small on the scaled display if "Apply scaling themselves" is turned on.
What I'm not understanding is why things (like UI elements in Krita or Kerbal Space Program) are teensy on the un-scaled monitor when "Apply scaling themselves" is turned on.
Tangential to this, is there a way to tell X11 applications to just completely ignore scaling?
@rl_dane@polymaths.social
not only does X11 not handle fractional scaling very well, its support for multiple monitors is famously... bad. Let alone fractional scaling PLUS multiple monitor.
What's the app? And the compositor?
@rl_dane what desktop are you using?
