I freed the sugar!

After several applications of heat, it became this almost clay-like consistency, allowing me to cut it apart and crumble it out in bits.

Now the question is, what to do with it? Ideally I'd want to use it somehow, but I'm at a bit of a loss 1) how to get it into useable form, and 2) how to keep it from clumping all over again.

I'm open to ideas and suggestions.

Also a bit surprised there's so *much* of it. I really made too much.

@Nezchan I'd give it a whirl in my mortar once it's cool again. A quick ziz in a blender/ food processor would also probably help if you don't have / don't want to use a mortar. Just don't overdo it if you go for motorized, or you'll have a very inhale-able powder

@Nezchan After that you can bake it for a while on very low heat to drive off the moisture it's absorbed, or honestly just plan to break it up again whenever you next use it

@Nentuaby

The advice I've seen is to dehydrate it in a very low oven until it pretty much crumbles on its own, then when it cools put it in a container with a clay disk like you'd use for brown sugar, except dry rather than soaked.

I've got a couple of large Mason jars that should do the trick nicely, and have a better seal than the tin I had it in.
