I may have booped it.
They have very poor eyesight and I had to encourage it to walk AWAY from the very excited #BronsonDog in the background. The echidna disappeared safely into #CillasGarden

@dgar are those spikes on their back like porcupine spikes? Defense mechanism? Or more like hedgehog spikes?
@piofthings I don't know what porcupine spikes or hedgehog spikes are like, but Echidna quills are rigid and very sharp. When threatened, Echidnas will dig into the ground leaving only their quills exposed, or they'll ball up like an armadillo for defence.

It’s an echidna [Ee-kid-na] or an Australian Spiny Anteater.
It lays eggs and feeds its young with milk.
