From own experience, small tip for anybody upgrading #nextcloud and seeing the process stuck in the last step (updating database schema):
It is *really* slow, even for a small / vanilla instance, and does not provide adequate warning to that effect.
Let it run for hours (overnight) before assuming the installation is broken 馃う and embarking on time-consuming reinstalls...
@openrisk I have NC servers running on Cloudron and YunoHost, and in neither case have I experienced anything like the issues that seem to come up regularly for manual deployments.
@openrisk I was very surprised to read this! My single-person nextcloud instance finishes upgrades in a few minutes. You may actually have a non-critical problem with your database (although I have no idea what).
@danielittlewood I guess this being unexpected is why I mention it ;-).
Unfortunately I couldn't find any hint in the logs what might be the cause. Plenty of CPU's and RAM but they were not used.
Only hint: It was the first step upgrading an older version (29.0.2.2 -> 29.0.16), subsequent upgrades went through smoothly.
