Huh. The #olympics opening got The One Ring (twice).

Kinda cool.

edit2: oh there they are. How novel.

edit3: I guess two years from now the rings are going to Mordor. So very appropriate to theme them like LOTR.

Hands up if you knew the Italian head of state is a president and not the prime minister.

Fun Wikipedia fact: Sergio Mattarella is the only currently living Italian president. I guess it's a bit like popes, but more bloody?

@Pepijn yup, Italy is a parliamentary Republic. The topic is actually quite debated right now in the country as the right-wing coalition in power is pushing for a presidential model.
