#Windows11 #AI push, and #Recall. Microsoft is reevaluating its “AI everywhere” strategy in Windows 11 and Recall (that awful spyware they added that periodically screenshots your activity). This is the result of user and enterprise backlash about bloat, UX clutter, and privacy. WOW! I am glad to see Microsoft finally deciding to actually work on a product with features that people want (still will never use it, go #Linux).

Windows Latest

Microsoft reportedly admits Windows 11 went off track, cuts back Copilot, and promises real fixes in 2026

Microsoft admits Windows 11 issues. With bug fixes, Copilot cutbacks, and gaming fixes, 2026 could be Windows’ last chance to win users back.

@will To be honest, I doubt that backlash actually mattered a lot is this situation. Microsoft always try to do worst things and never consider backlash, so actually listening to users would be way too unrealistic of an expectation.

For(in my opinion) an actual reason, a while back Microsoft were concerned that, at this point, electricity companies could decide against letting them use this much power for an AI because it requires buying too much new equipment.

@hagarashi8 could also be that their AI is one of the weakest competitors in that arena. Either way, the take away is avoid Microsoft :D

@will Oh, definitely. Microsoft is a kind of paradox when company can win by doing nothing, yet still manages to do worse than that.
