Hey #LibreOffice experts, is there a way I can transfer my Microsoft Word autocorrect entries into LO? I can only find my poorly written forum post on the matter, which is all sorts of embarrassing, but is there a way I can import all those entries into LO? Or at least get them in a format I can paste into LO's autocorrect.dat file?

@WeirdWriter This answer might provide a lead?

@WeirdWriter Probably best to ask on Reddit: r/LibreOffice

@WeirdWriter

MS has no support for exporting the ACL files. There are ways to find them, and a few tools to get the data out of them, but their format wildly changes between versions.

I think this is less of LO being able to receive, and more MS making it a pain even to send.

@shaknais Ugh. You mean no Macros at all or anything that could export into different formats? I know where the Autocorrect file for MSWord is and made copies of it but I haven’t found anything to convert it to a more readable/friendly format

Okay, felt bad for not having answers.
So, I put something together. No idea if it will work with your particular version of Word & LibreOffice. "Works for me".

Have both Word and Writer open, and run script with AutoIt.
It'll try to grab all from Word into a list, then go to Writer, and try to load them all.

Only tested it once. Version differences may make it not work.

@shaknais Thank you so much! I will try it very soon! I’m sure this will work a lot better than trying to export old entries and then copying and pasting them into the LO autocorrect file.

@WeirdWriter

The format changes, a lot. Some are flat word<->word. Some are binary trees. Some are hash trees.

Because of how unreliable the file structure is... You might be better off using AutoIt or something to grab it out of the interface.
