Okay. I must give props to #Capcom because the map of this game is kinda cool for the time. This is basically a #Metroidvania and it has actually been pretty easy to follow along the path without getting too lost.
I made it to this library place using the Spade Key and solved a puzzle. It's cool that the game throws away the items you no longer need 😜

I've gotten a few more keys and made more progress, I've also gotten jump scared quite a bit by monsters jumping out of windows :blobcatnotlikethis:
In any case I feel safe now because Ada is with me :blobcatderpy:

Finally made some more progress on Resident Evil 2.
I played a section as Ada! And I recovered, finally, the Club Key!

Made even more progress on #ResidentEvil2 and also more zombies have spawned and invaded the police station and oh boy I can't believe I missed a very, very obvious puzzle with the lighter for one of the chess pieces.

Advanced a bit more after backtracking for my last chess piece and seeing this guy die.
Reunited with Ada again after a boss fight that killed me like 4 times, thankfully save states are a thing. Sadly I have less than 15 bullets left...

Kept exploring the sewers and Leon got shot but Ada kept going and then we saw a pretty cool cut scene and there's lots of spiders and then there was a very big crocodile but now I'm fine.

Still making my way through the sewers and I finally reached the Laboratory!
Not without some sacrifices though, now Ada is hurt, and Leon is going to get revenge...

Didn't play much more after work yesterday but I'll advance what I can during my commute today

After almost dying to some basic zombies, a very melodramatic tragedy and a kinda cool, if rather easy boss fight.
I have finished the Leon A scenario in #ResidentEvil2!

The number of saves doesn't look too bad, so I assume it's time and tons of healing items gobbled. They don't show up on the stats, but I'm pretty sure they count towards your rank at the end.
@irgndsondepp this game is amazinggg, like, honestly I can't stress enough how well it holds up. I love the tank controls and the wonky voice acting. This was a joy from start to finish :3
Now I wanna play Signalis and Crow Country...
But also the OG RE and RE3...

The original RE is a bit less polished compared to the sequel, but I think it still holds up perfectly. However, the remake of it is better in all regards. Enjoy the original for the campy dialogue and voice acting, play the remake for one of the best games ever made. 🤩
And I highly recommend checking out the original RE3 too. It is pretty short, but it had some neat and refreshing ideas. It's probably the one game from the franchise that I've played the most of.
Unfortunately forgot my Anbernic handheld at work so I don't get to play until tomorrow...
@joel are we talking about that jumpscare in the interrogation room? That one always gets me, even when I know that it's coming. 😅

@joel @irgndsondepp there's a hallway where a Zombie breaks through a window as you walk by and I remember never being more terrified in my 13 years the first time I played.

Don't worry, I believe tank controls are part of the charm of these games ;)
