@deewani The reason they were unavailable at Trader Joe's for a couple of years, was that the Covered Bridge factory, in Heartland, NB was destroyed in a fire, so their capacity became limited. BTW, the cover bridge is in Heartland, NB.
@Artsandsocks Yeahh Lots of times when there is a product recall, the real manufacturers are revealed. The recent frozen waffle recall revealed all the store brands that were made in one place.
@deewani Covered Bridge is an Atlantic Canada company. They have been making them since 2015, and are only sold in the winter months. Chips are traditional snow storm food, I suspect because you can eat them when the power is off.
More recently, they added Weekender Chips, that are sold in the summer.
@Artsandsocks Interesting because Trader Joe鈥檚 carries them in summer only. So perhaps they switch to the Trader Joe鈥檚 chips packaging in the summer and that is why they are called patio chips. Trader Joe鈥檚 makes deals with other companies around the world to package items with their label for the most part. Sometimes manufacturers will make an exclusive flavor/versions just for Trader Joe鈥檚 as well. Recently I saw lattice ketchup chips at TJs. Probably manuf in Canada too.
