Red-pink sandstone with open circles, a few inches across, of lighter material embedded in it. One of the circles has a crossbar; the rest don't.

@colo_lee The one with the line is definitely the confusing one! Otherwise I'd say maybe they were shell fossils, or maybe some kind of geode-like inclusion.
